Storm Damage

When a storm comes through it can do a tremendous amount of damage. The most common storm damage in the Greater Charlotte Area is typically from Hail and Wind.

Hail Damage

When hail hits the roof of your home at the right angle, it breaks through the laminate of the shingle. This causes granules to fall, leaving the back matting exposed, causing indentation and dimples in the matting.

These blemishes grow every time there is strong winds or rain, leaving your roof susceptible to the elements.

Often this damage is not notice from the ground and takes a trained professional to discern this damage. While its very important to get an inspection after a hail storm, many times it takes a few good rain storms to wash away the loosen asphalt granules, exposing the damaged areas.

Wind Damage

As shingles age the seal holding them to each other becomes weaker. When winds are strong enough, it is able to force its way in, lifting the shingle up, compromising its seal. In some cases even creasing the shingle making it unable to lay back down.
